OSHA Rules

The Occupational Safety and Health Administration requires employers to determine whether personal protective equipment, or PPE, should be used. Workplaces that have inherent hazards, such as chemical plants, some factories and machine shops, and other potentially dangerous places (like those where supplied air respirators are used) need to have a PPE program that follows 29 CFR 1910.

OSHA's standard for PPE includes everything from head and eye protection to foot protection. With the right PPE, you can protect your employees from most workplace hazards and stay in compliance with OSHA.

Disposable Clothing and PPE: Uses and Applications

Disposable protective clothing has several applications in several industries. HAZMAT teams, medical personnel and even military members can use disposable clothing protectors in a variety of situations. The wide selection of disposable protective clothing in Enviro Safety Products' comprehensive catalog can protect wearers from:

  • dirt
  • dust
  • paint
  • mold
  • asbestos
  • fiberglass
  • pesticides
  • biohazards
  • petroleum
  • chemicals

Different types of disposable clothing provide different levels of protection; some disposable protective clothing can only protect users from dry contaminants, while other types protect users from wet hazards.

Enviro Safety Products' extensive collection of protective clothing contains items ideal for hospital and medical use, construction and deconstruction operations, farming, military wear and much more.

Disposable Clothes: Coveralls

There are several types of coveralls available in Enviro Safety Products' catalog. You'll need to select the disposable protective clothing that fills your requirements, so we've provided detailed product descriptions where possible to help you make the right choices.

At Enviro Safety Products, we offer several types of disposable coveralls with elastic wrists and ankles that help protect your personnel from a variety of hazards. Available in several sizes, materials and colors, Enviro Safety Products has one of the most comprehensive collections of disposable coveralls available online.

Disposable Clothing Protectors: Smocks, Shoe Covers and Lab Coats

Some workplace hazards require workers to wear smocks, shoe covers and lab coats - and disposable clothing protectors are generally a cost-effective alternative to non-disposable fabrics. At Enviro Safety Products, we specialize in providing disposable clothing protectors at affordable prices, so you can keep your workplace safe and running smoothly (and stay in compliance with local, state and federal standards) without going over budget.

Enviro Safety Products is committed to bringing you the highest quality disposable protective clothing available. That's why you'll only find disposable clothes made by the world's most trusted manufacturers in our comprehensive catalog - manufacturers like Tyvek, MicroMax, Tychem and Pyrolon.

At Enviro Safety Products, our first goal is to help you maintain the safety of your workplace. We understand OSHA, ANSI, DOT and NFPA regulations and can help you provide your employees with the right PPE. We're also committed to saving you time and money. We have compiled the best selection of disposable protective clothing, increased the numbers in our inventory to meet emergency orders (for example, we are the largest distributor of air-supplied respirators in the entire U.S.), and are able to pass our savings directly to our customers.

Selecting the correct disposable garment:

MicroMax

MicroMax disposable clothing is an economical alternative to Tyvek. MicroMax protects against non-hazardous contaminants such as dirt, dust, and paint.

Tyvek

Tyvek disposable clothing is the most popular, and protects the wearer from oils, dirt/dust, aerosols, mold, asbestos, fiberglass, pesticides and more. Not flame resistant.

Tychem

Tychem disposable garments are more versatile, providing protection against both dry and wet contaminants such as chemical splashes, biohazards, and petroleum. Not flame resistant.

Pyrolon

Pyrolon disposable garments offer limited protection wet or dry contaminants, and are flame resistant. When worn over thermal protective clothing (such as Nomex) Pyrolon Plus 2 garments meet the NFPA 2113 requirements.

Serged Seam Coveralls

Serged seam coveralls have seams that are NOT impervious to liquids, and are generally used for dry materials and paint applications where infiltration through the small holes of the single seam stitching is not an issue. Despite the poor liquid barrier properties, price and value is a serious advantage to serged seam coveralls.

Bound Seam Coveralls

Bound seam coveralls can be used for applications involving liquids and dry materials. However, it is important to understand that the bound seam configuration is resistant, not impervious to liquids. This type of seam is advantageous if you are not being doused in liquids, but rather resisting splatter.

Sealed Seam Coveralls

Sealed seam coveralls offer the best protection for liquids, but are also the most expensive per coverall. Providing a taped, and sealed seam, these coveralls provide good protection against liquid threats.

NOTE: These are suggestions for typical applications. For information regarding resistance to specific substances, please contact the manufacturer.
