For a long while I have been looking for a high quality head set with good reception. I recently purchased the Peltor AM/FM and I am extremely well pleased. I can listen to radio shows while mowing grass or doing other yard work without losing reception. I recently used them to follow the college football game I was attending and it completely blocked out the crowd noise and I could still hear my wife in a conversation by adjusting the ambient noise knob. These are heavy duty and get much better reception than their programmable counterpart from Peltor. They are definitely worth the extra money versus the cheaper brands on the market. I feel it is a super product and I would buy them again if I lost my set. |

I love these muffs except that they don't get very good reception. |

I'm buying my 4th pair(people keep stealing them). .
Pros:
The dual volume knobs work excellent, I can change both volumes at once with the flick of my fingers.
Wear them all day as a mechanic. You can amplify sounds and hear engine noises over the louder parts of the engine.
An air hammer on a brake rotor is quiet with these on.
Amazing when using chain saw. You aren't isolated.
Cons:
On my first pair the cups popped out when I left them in a hot car, they kept popping out after that.
Wish the tuner was digital with presets, (keep the dual volume knobs)
The special cord should be a standard 8mm
Boss complains about the radio, the antenna is too obvious. |

Radio work great even in a remote area. The active noise reduction don't work with my lawnmower. Wish I had bought the digital tuning Worktunes instead. Still like it. |

This headset works great. I found it to be very comfortable to wear. The AM/FM radio is great when working on projects with loud noises. My only dislike about the Alert was I had to take it off after every hour or so because I would get hot. |

I really liked this product, it delivers as stated but I personally prefer the Digital Worktunes instead. It's cheaper and has digital tunning. Either way they both provide excellent hearing protection. |

This headset rocks! Literally, I can rock out while I'm working and doing the yard. I'm very happy with the radio reception and level of hearing protection it provides. Peltor definitely hit home with this product! |

I was going to purchase the Peltor Tactical Pro until I ran across the Peltor Alert. I can not see any difference between the two units except this one has a high quality am/fm radio included and costs less. I called Peltor, and they told me that this was in fact a better deal. The radio quality is great and they have now most of my friends have bought them for use at the gun range. |

Received as a gift for X-mas and I really enjoy them. I can work and adjust the noise level on the outside to the level I want, yet it will reduce the sound of loud noise on its own. I am no longer "isolated" from the world while wearing hearing protection. I would give the Peltor Alert radio earmuffs the top rating based upon quality, but I thought they were a little pricey (but it wasn't my money). |
