This 3M full face respirator kit is the simple, one stop solution to help provide respiratory protection during most mold remediation activities such as vacuuming, sanding, removal and disposal. The 3M full face 6000 Series respirator helps protect against eye-irritating mold. Provides a wide field of vision for enhanced safety. Meets EPA guidelines for mold remediation jobs of all sizes. The 2097, P100 filter has a carbon layer that adds nuisance-level protection from odors (VOCs) associated with mold.

Please note that the EPA does not allow half facepiece respirators for remediation of areas greater than 100 square feet and requires non-vented eye protection for all job sizes.

During abatement work, I wear
a half facepiece respirator. Can I
use it for mold remediation too?

Not by itself. Because mold can
be irritating to the eyes, the EPA
allows the use of half facepiece respirators
for remediation of contaminated areas up
to 100 square feet only when used with
non-vented goggles. Since full facepiece
respirators may be used for mold
remediation jobs of all sizes, they are
a simple solution for both respiratory
and eye protection.

Can I use the same filters for
mold remediation that I use for
asbestos abatement?

No. The P100 or HEPA filters
commonly used for asbestos
abatement do not reduce exposure to
the VOCs that are produced by mold.
In order to reduce exposure to both
mold spores and VOCs, 3M recommends
a particulate filter with either
nuisance-level organic vapor relief
or an organic vapor cartridge.

Rating:
	I am allergic to mold and I use the mask when I go into places that is harmful to me. I use it when I travel in people cars that air conditioners and heaters have developed that distinct smell in the vent that only I can pick up. I am one of the worse case senerios when it comes to getting severe sinusitus because of invironmental contact with mold. In fact it does not take much for me to get sick. This mask I have used for 11 years and the one I had was damaged in a car accident and I had to replace it. I love this mask and it has saved me many of days from being sick. Although I look kind of out of place when I wear it it is worth it's weight in gold. It tightly seals my face and do not allow the allergens to enter my mouth and nose. I know why most people use it but to me it is my life saver and allows me to stay healty. It is a wonderful product. I would not use any other product. 3M makes the best. Thank you!
