The 3M Speedglas FlexView System combines their best welding helmet with the Adflo Powered Air Purifying Respirator (PAPR) for welders. The welding helmet features a welding lens that can be "flipped" onto the top of the helmet giving the wearer a large viewing area for chipping, grinding, or other work.

Speedglass Helmets with side windows improve visibility, safety and comfort. These helmets allow welders to see potentially hazardous peripheral objects such as moving equipment, vehicles and other welders.

Respiratory protection is provided by the ADFLO PAPR system which is compact and lightweight and uses a unique stacked filter design that reduces operating costs. Replacement filters and optional organic vapor/acid gas cartridge available. The PAPR system also has an audible and visual alarm to signal when the airflow is low and/or if the battery needs charged. The NiMH battery fully charges in 3 hours and can provide up to 13 hours of battery life. When used with the vapor cartridge battery life averages 5.5-6 hours per charge.

Altitude limitations:

Less than 2500 feet - Adflo™ can be used with the Adflo™ HE Particulate Filter only or in combination with the Adflo™ Chemical Cartridge.

Between 2500 and 3500 feet - The Adflo™ should only be used with the Adflo™ HE Particulate Filter.

Over 3500 feet - Due to potentially premature filter service and/or battery life warnings, 3M suggests that the customers use the 3M GVP PAPR with the 3M L-series head gear.

Rating:
	The welding system works better than I expected. I do hard facing I it was taking a toll on both my eyes and my lungs. I had an auto darkening helmet before (Jackson) but my eyes still had problems. I don't know the differences between the two helmets except that my eyes are no longer red at the end of the day. It is nice to be able to see and breathe after work.

Rating:
	I can't believe I waited this long before buying the Speedglas Adflo welding helmet system. This powered welding helmet is awesome, it keeps me cool, gives me clean air (plenty of it), the lens provides great clarity (second to none) and I really dig the way I can flip the lens up for the clear lens. I flip the welding lens up for chipping and grinding instead of switching back and forth between my faceshield and my welding helmet like I used to do. I am also surprised how long the filters last since I was sure I would go through them in our dirty old welding shop. I go through about one HEPA filter per month, no too bad. I only have good things to say. Thanks!
