Filter Shade Glasses

Welding glasses and welding goggles are an important part of welder safety. One of the ways a welder protects their eyes, is getting glasses with filter shades. When welding the radiant energy and radiation from the arc flame can damage the eye, so the filter shade was developed so less of the radiant light passes through the glasses to the eye. OSHA and ANSI both have shade recommendations based on the type of welding the welder is using. Shade #'s range from 4-14.
