Soft Density Silicon Carbide Wheel Polishes with Precise Results
Among Standard Abrasives™ Unitized Wheels, the 500 Series provides the softest density, and is available in medium (MED) and fine (FIN) grade silicon carbide (S/C). The combination of soft density and sharp cutting S/C mineral makes these wheels a good match for applications where a fine finish is more important than cut, such as polishing fillet areas on jet blades and soft metals prior to the coating process. Due to their conformability, these wheels are great for projects with strict tolerances, because they respond to surface irregularities. After prolonged use, the wheel may be dressed to maintain its shape.
Our 500 Series S/C Wheels come in two options. Type 532 is an excellent choice for finishing applications. We designed the Type 524 wheel to better suit light weight blending applications by constructing it with a higher density of MED grade S/C grain throughout the web material, resulting in a slightly more aggressive product.
Compatible with a Variety of Tools
Unitized wheels are typically used on a right angle grinder. A benefit of unitized wheels is that they are bi directional and can be mounted on a tool or pedestal grinder without regard to the direction of the spindle rotation. This means the Standard Abrasives™ Unitized Wheel can be used with a variety of tools, and regardless of which way the workpiece is fed through the machine, the wheel will be able to respond, giving operators more flexibility. The stiffness of the unitized construction enables operators to use thinner wheels to access awkward angles with grinding tools.
Series 500 wheels comes in a range of diameters from 1 12˝ and require a unitized wheel mandrel (sold separately) for attachment to the tool. Quick change wheels are also available (sold separately).
Non Woven Unitized Construction Offers a Step Up in Density and Durability for Stubborn Surfaces Standard Abrasives™ Unitized Wheels are a great match for tough deburring, cleaning, blending and finishing applications. They come in a broad range of densities and grades to suit different metals, the degree of aggressiveness required, shape of the part, and desired finish. Although used for some of the same tasks as Standard Abrasives(TM) Buff and Blend products, they are designed with a far stronger and denser construction to support more aggressive applications and accomplish material removal more rapidly. Even though unitized wheels are much stiffer products, the non woven nylon fibers of the wheel maintain the advantage of responding to surface irregularities while preserving the geometry of the piece, and produce a consistent finish.
Unitized wheels are created by starting with layers of open web material that combines non woven fiber strands and abrasive mineral with a tough resin bond. These layers of web are then cured and compressed together. By fusing layers of open web, the abrasive gains more toughness and durability, so it can withstand repeated wear.
Ultimately, the wheel's durability is what makes it such a good match for edges. Regardless of the diameter or thickness of the wheel, it maintains its structural integrity to remain a stiff and long lasting abrasive. Additionally, as the layers wear, the wheel can be dressed to maintain its shape.

It was easy to order
Item took longer than advertised to ship. Once item arrived, it was determined to be incorrect size. I have reached out to Customer Service to initiate an exchange but no one has gotten back to me.
gloves are tight considering they are an extra large. i will be sending them back.
This site is listed on the 3M website as an official distributor. Product was reasonably priced, additional shipping charge wasn't that much, it shipped extremely fast (faster than estimate) and arrived decently packaged. The packaging couldn't be waterproofed, which I would have liked, but the boxes inside were undamaged. The delivery person, who is outside the companies control, sent me a picture that did not show the delivery. The post-purchase prompting for these reviews is a bit much, however. One message asking politely is standard, but I have received several at this point, so this is me leaving a review.

Good fast service
Website was easy to navigate and order from. Turns out the size of the item I purchased was made to order not going to reach me in the initially stated timeframe and unfortunately not available until after the date I needed it by. The folks at EnviroSafetyProducts.com were very responsive, helpful and even cheerful in helping me cancel the order and getting a full refund. BEST customer service I've experienced online in a very long time if not ever. They will definitely be the first place I look next time I need a piece of safety equipment.
I was pleasantly surprised with the speed of delivery and the product. As a woman who is dealing with two cancers ( breast and CLL) it is important for me to feel safe IF I must go out in public during Covid/flu/RSV season and these are medical n95 masks not the fake stuff or industrial masks. These goggles are something I purchase once a year for Jr. High students to use in science class. They love them and they work wonderfully.
Straightforward transactions. They have what I want and it arrives promptly every time.
After being told it was being shipped, my order was cancelled. When I emailed to ask why, I was told it was because I was overseas. This was the case, but both my billing and shipping addresses were in the US, so I don´t see why there should have been any problem.
I ordered gloves online and Envirosafety delivered the gloves.
Loved them especially working in hot environments
The product I ordered was back ordered. Gustavo Martinez contacted me personally to help me get what I needed. He called multiple suppliers to see if he could get the product in pieces instead. In the end her helped me figure out that I didnt even order the correct product for my application and got the correct one ordered for me. By far the best customer service I have ever had from an online order!
We were able to find what we needed at a reasonable price. Checkout was relatively easy as well. After ordering, we got a notification that the items we ordered were on backorder. It would've been nice to have that inventory be accurate on the website before placing the order, but I understand things happen. We were given the option to cancel, but since we needed those particular items in no huge rush, decided to keep it in place. We received one shipment of the ear protection, but I believe the remaining maintenance kits are still on backorder. I hope we receive them soon. Other than the discrepancy in inventory and the wait for the two shipments, things went well. When we need more PPE, we'll likely shop with them again.
