'Tis the Season
Earlier we discussed some of our latest “cool deals” for winter. Today, we’ll take a broader look at our selection of winter gear here at Enviro. As October rolls into the rearview (Happy Halloween/Dia de los Muertos/Reformation Day everyone!), the chill of winter will soon be fully upon us. But rain, sleet, or shine, work never ends, and we all have to keep warm while we toil towards the onset of spring. Enviro is here to meet your low-temperature needs. All aboard the high-visibility hype train! High-visibility (hi-viz) clothing has seen a massive boom in popularity as concerns and anxieties about public safety have heightened, particularly in Europe. In a 2008 public information campaign in France, Karl Largerfeld (Chanel’s creative director and public mascot) posed in a hi-viz safety vest alongside the caption “It’s yellow, it’s ugly, it doesn’t match anything, but it can save lives.” Lagerfeld is known for making outlandish, cruel, and stupid statements, but even a broken clock is right twice a day. Hi-viz is essential for low-light environments and worksites with a high level of activity. If you’re working in the snow, it’s that much more important (and difficult) to know where everybody is and what they’re doing.
