Developed for demanding communication environments, this NATO-wired PTT adapter provides convenient radio transmission control while allowing personnel to communicate through their connected headset without handling the radio directly. Designed for compatibility with select AN/PRC military radio configurations, including the AN/PRC-148 MBITR and compatible Falcon-series systems, it is an important component for military communications, tactical coordination, and field operations. What makes the FL5601-02 practical for operational use? Its ambidextrous design accommodates both right- and left-handed users, while the recessed push-to-talk button helps minimize accidental activation during movement and equipment handling. The button profile and tactile feedback also support reliable operation when wearing tactical gloves, cold-weather gloves, or other protective handwear, making it suitable for environments where removing PPE is not practical. Its adjustable 360-degree mounting clip allows users to position the adapter on a belt or shoulder for convenient access, helping maintain an organized communication setup and improving operational efficiency. The 6-pin MIL-C-55116 connector provides the specified military-standard interface, while the NEXUS TP-120 headset connection serves as a breakaway connection for emergency removal. With an IP65 ingress protection rating, the adapter is designed to provide protection against dust ingress and water jets under specified test conditions. Is the FL5601-02 compatible with every military radio? No. Compatibility depends on the radio model, connector configuration, wiring requirements, and headset combination, so verify the equipment specifications before ordering. Is it suitable for tactical headsets? It is designed for use with compatible 3M PELTOR COMTAC protective communication headsets and selected two-way radios. Can it be operated while wearing gloves? Yes, its button design and tactile feedback support push-to-talk operation with gloved hands.
